Opinio is for people to say what they think and see where everyone stands. That only works if people feel safe. These rules apply to every post, comment, profile, community and message, public or anonymous.

Not allowed

• Child sexual abuse material or sexualising minors. Zero tolerance. We report it to the authorities and close the account.
• Threats and violence, encouraging harm to people or animals, glorifying terror.
• Harassment, bullying and hate aimed at a person or group because of religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality or similar.
• Sharing private information about someone (doxxing), or intimate pictures without consent.
• Sexually explicit content and graphic gore.
• Scams, spam, fake engagement and selling illegal goods.
• Impersonation of people or organisations.
• Deliberately false information that could cause real harm (for example about health, elections or emergencies).
• Content that breaks the law in India.
• Using personas to dodge a suspension or to harass someone from a "fresh" identity.

Disagreement is fine

You may disagree strongly with ideas. Attack the argument, not the person.

If you are struggling

If you or someone you know may be in danger, contact local emergency services or a helpline in your area. [[Add India helpline numbers after verifying them.]]

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is: content removed, a warning, limits on posting, a suspension, or a permanent ban. See how moderation works, including how to appeal.
