Anyone can report a post, comment, person, anonymous persona or chat message. A report opens a case that our reviewers decide. The person who reported is not told who the account behind an anonymous persona is, and the account being reported is not told who reported.
We use automated tools to help: a speed limit on new accounts, a list of blocked words and links, an automatic check of uploaded pictures for explicit or violent content, and an AI system that checks claims. Automated tools can make mistakes; people make the final decision on reports.
Chats are end-to-end encrypted and we cannot scan them. We only see a chat message if someone reports it and chooses to share it.
A reviewer can dismiss a report, remove the content, or suspend the account. Staff actions are recorded in an audit log.
We aim to acknowledge reports and complaints within [[24 hours, verify]] and decide within [[days, verify against the IT Rules]]. Urgent safety reports are handled first.
If you think we got it wrong, write to [[GRIEVANCE_EMAIL]] with the account email and what happened. A different reviewer looks at it.
